Post Breakfast

We continued our drive after breakfast.  The houses and boats here must cost millions of dollars apiece. wow...
We went through some cool towns.
When we got back to Bernie's we went back down to beach and wandered around a nice art festival.

Sunday Funday

We got up today and took a drive north along A1A in search of breakfast.   We stopped at Scully's in Boyton Beach because we could eat our breakfast al fresco.  It was a piece of luck that we stopped because it was very nice.

Dinner and a Breeze

We went down to the beach area with Bernie and his son Ryan for dinner.  We ate at the same place we ate last year, the Patio Bar & Grill. It's part of the Wyndham Hotel. It was cool and the wind was coming in off of the ocean but it was nice to eat outside!! Bernie valets parked his truck because last year he got a 30 dollar parking ticket.

Bernie Bernie

We arrived at Bernie's at 3:45 on Saturday the 30th.   It's cloudy and cool.

Here is Bernie's house and his top secret Mustang.

Turn Left 90 Degrees

We had a little lunch at a Wendy's near Naples...stopped at a Wallgreens to buy a SunPass and a candy bar.  We then pointed the car east across Allegator Alley.  That long straight road through the swamps landed us on Forida's Eastcoast.

Headed Farther South

We left Hudson and headed due south towards Tampa.  It was not the most direct route to Deerfield Beach but we got to driver over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge!!!

Tarpon Springs Lunch

Tarpon Springs is full of shops and places to eat...all with a Greek flair.
We ate at Demitri's On The Water.  (There was a 10% discount because we went on the boat ride)

More Tarpon Springs

It was a little chilly for our sponge boat outing but we hung in there!!!

The crew of the boat were great. They were friendly and happy to share their knowledge.  We happened to squeeze onto the boat even though it was filled with a senior tour group from New England....we fit right in!!

St. Nicholas Boat Line

We took a boat ride to learn how sponges are harvested. It was very cool!

Today's Adventure

Tarpon Springs is the leading harvester of natural sponges in the world. All harvested from the Gulf of Mexico.

Another Day in Hudson

Quick Stop

Stopped for gas and a bite to eat in Gainesville. Went to a McDonalds because it was handy!

Sunshine State

We entered Florida at 12:02pm!!!
It's 70 but clouding up...

Georgia Georgia

We crossed the Savannah River and entered Geogia at 10:30.  It's 64 degrees...notice the palm trees!!

It's Warming Up

It is 10:02.  We're about 40 miles north of Savannah AND IT IS 61 DEGREES!!!

Behind The Wheel

Cheri is driving the first leg today. I'm a little worried because this is a NASCAR state and she has lead shoes.  Time out is 7:20am

Day 2

Good morning!   We are washed up and ready to start the day!

We brought our own breakfast so we could save some time.  These were pretty tasty!!

My Dinner

Fish and Chips

Feed Me

After we got settled into the Hilton Garden Inn we were ready to eat. We talked about a simple walk across the parking to to eat at a Chilie's but decided to drive 10 minutes to Legal Remedy Brewery.  We are glad we climbed back in the car and made the trip. It gave us a chance to see a bit more of the Rock Hill area and the food and beer were good!

Schnitzel and potato salad
